Vortex diamondback binoculars

I bought a pair of 10x50 last week. For the money they are really good.

But I have had Leica rangefinder bins in the past. Two sets. The rangefinder part is terrible, but I would have that glass and ergonomics again in a heartbeat.

Melted Magnesium from a car fire ? The same metal they have on flint and steel blocks because it’s is very flammable and burns really hot!

Agree though the warranty is very good, that said the eye cups have come unstuck on both my pairs, first we’re replaced for that reason, second pair I just stuck electrical tape around them to keep them on. Might replace one day
I'm no metallurgist...

However for the price and the warranty it can be made out of wood for all I care. Whatever it is, its getting replaced free of charge 👍🏻

Thanks for all the info on this thread. Had a cheap pair of 10 x 42 (I think Jessops) that have given up the ghost - diopter won't focus. Didn't think I really needed them as have a Leica LRF with x8 but I really miss using both eyes. Had some vouchers from amazon so it was a decision on getting crossfire / triumph with vouchers or adding about £100 for diamondback. Have gone for 10x42 DB in the end based on this thread :)

Hi all I'm hoping for some real advice here, what are the vortex diamondback 8x42 or 10x42 like at last light?
Compared to the major brands such as zeiss and swarovski?

Cheers

Steve
I would ask yourself can you afford Swarovski binoculars (I don't need to know). If you can then go with them as an investment and they are a really nice binocular.
I have vortex viper hd and bought my dad a pair of diamond backs. Personally I think they are great. Dad loves his too. Vortex is solid kit and I don't think it will hold anyone back. Is it Swarovski, no and I could buy a few pairs for my swaro ones. I've kept my viper's though. I still use them too.
As you can tell they're isn't much in it really.

Another one to vouch for the Diamondback HD range. I have a pair of 10X50 which I use for both stalking and out at sea. Very clear glass at night which I would say is much better than some of the Steiner mariner binos we have on the bridge which are way more expensive!

Couple of issues. Often if you have the very best bins what you may be able to see with the bins you won't be able to see in your scope.
If you want to spot stuff then thermal wins hands down. Older Pulsar thermals are extremely good value SH and v reliable. Best compromise would be both. You can't go wrong with Vortex bins.
