So iam looking to try some more monolithics in my 308 semi auto and have been looking at the VRG 3 for a while with curiosity.
Some questions i have about them is how sensitive are they to seating, how do they perform compared to other bullets and how well might they work with magazines (will they make it up the feed ramp). My currenr lineup is Fox, tarvas, various lead bullets have been tried (personal preference is non tox) sako blade, few others.
What i have found is that i need a non fussy bullet that will be less affected by the inherent flaws of the AK system. Fox classic hunter performs 2moa, blade is a 10cm group at best (keep in mind we are talking about a kalashnikov design)
What i want the bullet for is to put as mutch smackdown as is possible for a 308win on a moose at under 150m and to keep my groups down to 1-2 moa, that is entirely bullet dependent i found with the least fussy bullets i use in my bolt actions performing the best in my auto loader and the ones requiring more precise seating being the worst. This goes for powder selection as well, rifle had no issue using even the slowest powders and usually does better the More i overgass it.
So does The vrg3 do any more damage than a fox classic Hunter? and are they jump sensitive?
the reality of my rifle is that on things like sako blade the jump turns out to be 4mm and they dont like that.
