Walking Boot recommendations for a Meindl Dovre wearer

I've got a couple of pairs of Dovres (tall ones), that I love for my stalking, but I'm looking for a normal height walking boot for general hill walking year round, so something little lighter and less stiff than the Dovres.

Appreciate there are hundreds of boot recommendation threads, but it would be good to hear from those who like their Dovres as we've presumably got similar shaped feet and like the same kind of boots.

Thanks!

I also have two pairs of "tall" Dovres too but I also have a pair of Meindl Meran GTX walking boots plus Meindl Philadelphia walking shoes.

Both non-dovres are good and well used and each has their specific uses - but (with feet like flippers) there ain't anything that 100%matches the Dovres for absolute fit and comfort so when the Meran's finally die I think I'm still going to get another pair of Dovres - but the short ones.

I have Dovres as my winter stalking/shooting boot but I have just purchased a pair of AKU pilgrims gtx in brown. I cannot rate them highly enough. I had a black pair for work and they were like slippers, their Italian made boots and really well made. Mine came with spare laces also. £150 rrp I had mine off eBay for £90 brand new. Bargain!

I wear dovres in the winter for shooting loading etc and altberg defenders for every thing else.
Both excellent boots I find.

Hanwag bit narrower than Dovres. Could you not just buy the mid height version of the Dovres, more of a walking boot than a high leg boot.

My Meind Dovres sit next to a pair of Altbergs too. For me, they are just as good and get worn for slightly lighter tasks. At £40-£50 average on t'net, they are a massive value for money option.

Hanwag special forces gtx should be available in a wider fitting. Usually on special offer somewhere.

I have Meindl Dover GTX extreme and the shorter version but last year for summer stalking and general walking I got the Meindl Respond, they do them in a shoe and an ankle boot both very good lightweight Gortex so still waterproof have been happy with both

I wear Meindl Dovres for hill stalking - my 'lower height' day to day boot is Lowa Renegade GTX.... incredibly comfy, goretex lined, not too hot.... when current ones give up - which they are showing no signs of doing - I will buy another pair. Highly recommend them.
