Want an EV pick up ?

I was surprised to see the Maxus only comes in at a curb weight of 2300kg just 300kg more than a Ranger according to a site I looked at, either way electric isn't the future only a stop gap, just look at the sodden great mines frantically looking for Lithium, on the other hand however JCB (along with a Germany) are on the right track -

I remember 22-23 years ago when in London the buses were running on Hydrogen.

It is the way I thought even back then that this would be the way things would be heading.

Having had a electric van for the past 2 years the are great for daily work as long as you work fairly local vut as soon as you want to go on a longer trip your snookered. And the miliage advertiesed you could expect a 25ish% reduction in the winter. I dint think where quite there yet with the vast majority of house not having 3phase to enable fast charging. Also im struggling to belive we will be able to produce/ buy back enough electric from the french to make it suitable for everyone. Hydrogen is definitely the way to go on my albit uneducated on all the issue eyes

Pretty sure our local council have some Transit style full electric tipper truck in use.

But, and it a big BUT, if EVs were so good......All Government and local councils would not have any ICE vehicles.....They wouldn't need any!
Yet they preach to us that we should drive them and save the Planet at the se time.
People need educating on just how UN green it is to make these vehicles.
Some electric motor driven machinery can run for years, but your EV will need loads of maintenance.
A friend went on a 300 + mile journey as a passenger in and all electric car recently.
With planning they still had to make unscheduled stops and at times the driver switched the heating, radio and at times some lights to try and conserve some juice.
I'd like one if they would do there intended job.
Ken.
