Wanted: Wanted- experienced metal detectorist.

Hello, Well done, A good start despite few finds, I am sure that is a Sack seal , Old west of England jobbies, The Pistol looks good, Get your self a Jewellery Ultrasonic cleaner, It will take the dirt of any Artefact with out spoiling it, I use warm water and a spot of washing up liquid, The dirt just dissolves off, That pistol will clean up nicely, Once clean leave to dry, Bronze coins etc once dry use some Renaissance Wax to stop further erosion, It is what they use in Museums, I melt mine before using,

Thereby hangs another question, so what ultrasonic cleaner to buy then?
Hello, I have had mine years, It has a tray inside, They come in all sizes, Mine would just fit the Pistol, Some thing like a Pro Clean if the tray is big enough, B and Q , You do not need cleaner, Warm soapy water i use , , Watch the years of dirt just come off as the Ultrasonic works, Stubborn dirt you can do a few times, This will get you going, There is another cleaner but will explain another time
