Wart?

Shot this muntjac buck this morning.

Anyone know what this is, at first I thought it was a fibroma/wart but it's hairy so not so sure? Muntjac buck was behaving normally lymph nodes looked OK. Thank you.

Popped the "wart" off, it was well attached and left this.

God, you must examine your deer very thoroughly !
I would not be able to spot something like that with all the ticks hanging off the beasts .

Just looks like a skin tag or blackthorn spine has punctured and is making its way back out.

Definitely looked like a skin tag never seen them on deer but like you say the ticks would mask them. Ticks are almost non existent in this wood for some reason.
