Warwickshire police Wait times

Hi everyone you have all probably heard this about every other county 😂.

I had my FEO visit for my Sgc/fac this was two weeks ago just wondering if anyone from Warwickshire has gone through the process and how long it took from interview to certs coming through the post.

I think currently all in on 92 days and two weeks post interview, so itching to get out now with my own rifles this is by no means a moan I know others are waiting up to two years just to get to interview stage I’m just intrigued.

Cheers

TBH I think that is OK from interview, so calm down, look at what is available for the slots that you are expecting, but don't put any money down just yet.

So your FEO has given you the answer. Give it five weeks from when they said 1-4 weeks, then a friendly polite call or email to check that Royal mail haven't lost it.

Don’t be concerned if it takes a bit longer than the FEO originally quoted. Timeframes can drag a bit for a variety of reasons without any cause for concern such as, being unable to get hold of one of your referee’s, staff sickness or holidays, etc…

When I was waiting on my first grant I called the office a few times and finally had a bit of a moan as I thought it was taking too long… now ultimately this did resolve the matter but I wish I hadn’t and I feel a bit silly about it all now. If you do decide to chase them up at any point, just stay polite and friendly. Good luck :)

Yeah I’m not going to chase them I know already that they have been in contact with my referees as they informed me, to be honest Warwickshire police have been good at keeping me in the loop with steps they are taking.

Took a good month to get the land permission through as in total I have over 12,000 acres my fault for sending all my land permission over when they only asked for one, then had to get signed documents across to them with each permission.

I have been told 4 weeks looking at the new stats just released Warwickshire are processing grants in 4 months to 97% of applicants so hopefully I don’t fall into the 3% 😂 I’m just on the 3 month mark at 96 days so 🤞.

They seem to have really slowed down lately.

When I got my fac it was all done in a few weeks. In fact it was me delaying it by taking time to fix my cabinet to the wall.

First time I did a variation it was less than a week. Second time was under 3 weeks and now I'm in to 5 weeks and not heard anything.

Yeah still haven’t got my certs yet into the 4th week now getting slightly frustrated only thing keeping me relaxed is that others are in a lot worse situation than me. I will give them 5 weeks then give them a ring I just can’t see what the issue is.

It still hasn’t came through everyone 😂 thought you would all like an update almost 7months in alls I can find out is that it’s with the case worker.

BASC has been fighting for improvements in service and whilst some forces are doing well and others are getting there, many are lagging behind. During last year's PCC elections and general election BASC made this a key issue for shooters to engage in, and this continues to be a key message for us for the upcoming party conferences. First up is Reform.

The following BASC report goes into the detail across every force in England and Wales.

What will help improve things for everyone is joining BASC is you are not already a member - that goes for everyone commenting on this thread - there are some 650,000 SGC/FAC holders and 150,000 are BASC members.

Warwickshire used to be great years ago. My wife had her fac in for renewal and we both did RTAs for them. We were off up to the Cairngorms on the Sat to help a pal with end of season hinds and it hadn't come back on the Thursday. I spoke to our local Bobby, he went up on his motorbike on the Friday to HQ at Leek Wooton and came back with her certificate, delivered it to her in the pub on Friday eve. That was in the late 90's so bought him a couple of pints, brilliant service.

I've had a variation with them in since April 30th.

A mate of mine filled in a form for moving house at around the same date.

Neither of us heard anything.

I called a few weeks ago after moving from Warks to Northamptonshire. They hadn’t sent my paperwork across yet. The lady I spoke to said they were short staffed. Such a pity as they used to be really quick.

1-4 weeks
I think I may have the record here, nearly 3 years!!, for a voluntary surrender to Police's request!!, now ask yourself should I surrender ticket, and or ticket and weapons, or politely refuse and let the Police seize them. At least you can commence an appeal following the receipt of a section 12 letter, or sit back and let the Police take as much time as they wish, or until you chase them up
