Waterproof chaps or very long gaiters?

Hi, everyone,
I want waterproof chaps or really long gaiters for walking in tall wet grass. They should be easy to put on as I am likely to have muddy shoes, so ideally with a long side zip. If gaiters, then they need to go full leg length
Would you know any model that works?
Many thanks

Not really as I need to walk a lot, sometimes put on , sometimes take off
Thank you for the suggestion
You're more than welcome Omega.

I was recently considering buying a pair of gaiters that are going for about half rrp in the classified section on this forum and then remembered I probably have more pairs of waders my size upstairs than the Glasgow Angling Centre has in stock.

My children are going to be so confused when they inherit my estate.

Barbour leggings (chaps) - wide enough to put on over your boots if you can’t be bothered to take them off, or Laksen have (or did - I’ve got pairs of both Barbour and Laksen) much lighter ones, similar to the Barbour ones they come also with press studs to close them, but the Laksen ones roll up and stay in a small, unobtrusive built-in pocket by which they attach onto your belt or even empty belt loops when not in use.

Barbour with the dressing if bracken and/or thorns likely to be encountered.

I have a set of Harkila chaps which I’ve had for many years and they have never let me down. They have the press studs up the outsides. Not sure if you can still get them though.

I use these, totally waterproof and generally thorn proof. They have Velcro fixed side leg vents so can put on and taken off over boots or wellies, also has loops to attach to your trouser belt. I’ve used these for years I find them easier to use than gaitors.

Could you tell me if they have full leg length zip on the side? Thank you

If gaiters are not high enough....when I wear tweed breeches on the hill (grouse or stags) I have a pair of packable Schoffel Saxby over trousers in my Vorn/game bag. They are full length zipped so if it's just wet grass you can leave the tops unzipped to breath.

They're not cheap (£170) but are hard wearing, breathable and 100% waterproof. They are tough too and have been used for a good few crawls (including through bogs.) Unisex Saxby Overtrousers II Green
