Weird rifling issues on a Savage axis precision

Thanks Heym for the comprehensive advice. If I cant get anywhere with EB and to be honest I am not holding my breath what you suggest sounds like a good plan.
I can see myself doing a bit of short period range time with some reloads/ cheaper ammo over the next couple of month and then giving it a good clean afterwards with JB bore paste to try and smooth everything off.
I know its unfair comparing it to my Sako as to be fair I did spend about £1500 giving her a full facelift as a semi custom rifle as a treat to myself even witha fluted light weigh barrel I rarely get issues with groups wandering even after a couple of five shot groups.

Get the barrel recut to a larger .284/7mm calibre with the same bolt face but rechambered also to a bigger cartridge form? Expensive perhaps.

You shouldn't have a problem with Edgar brothers providing you're within 3 years of purchase. They offer a 3 year no quibble guarantee.
I had a similar problem with a savage .22 rimfire...Mike dickinson had a look and suggested contacting Edgar brothers. They were very helpful. I dropped the rifle off with them, they tested it... replaced the barrel and handed it back to me a few weeks later.
