Any of you guys got any ideas for repairing a pair of wellies theyve just got a small half inch split in the side of the foot, there a pair of harkillas and ive had them for years and dont want to bin them for one little split

Yep, Stormsure. The same happened to my Harkillas, I also glued the zips back into place with Stormsure and they held perfectly........shame the rest of the wellies disintegrated.

As above, a dab of windscreen glue would work, my waders (dunlop) split and the material they are made of would not key up well at all. Fixed it in the end with a tire patch and aqua sure

I have repaired my wellies 5 years ago and still ok try shoegoo on sale on eBay it was invented in USA to repair skate board users trainers

Stormsure is the stuff , if you shoot ,hunt or fish you can't be without a tube in the freezer. Repairs wellies, boots , webbing and all other shooting things . I even make rands on my cheap farming boots. If you use on wellies rub with wet n dry paper and clean with isopropyl alcohol or nail varnish remover ( the wife's )

+1 for this. As described, you need to put in more prep work than “just a dab of glue” - clean, dry, degrease and rough up the surfaces first. Stormsure is amazing, but I have used many others such as aquasure or arildite.

Sadly your probably going to have to to accept that nothing lasts forever and move on to a new pair.
Once the rubber splits in the foot area the boots are finished, you can patch or glue all you like but the break in the original boot shell will give you a weak spot at the patch so a repair never lasts long due to having to flex with every step.
You could try to find just the one boot you need, bound to be an amputee with an interest in field sports and an unneeded spare boot out there somewhere.
An add in the local paper might work.

For the price of a tube of stormsure glue and 1 hrs work, I would try before putting them in the bin . Cleaned and sanded well my work boot last months !! If you use Hunters they should come new with a tube of glue !!

Hunters are only waterproof carpet slippers was told that about twenty years ago by the man on their stall at the cla didnt seem bothered when i told him thats the last pair and will never buy again.

As a kid I spent most of my time in Royal Hunters the ones with the yellow soles with studs in, In the days of yellow custard powder and big wagon wheels. Now like most things they are built with price in mind and no doubt are now made in China.

Ant tips for repairing moulded soles to leather boots. Over the years tried all sorts of epoxy's and vulcanising solutions but nothing lasts. Once asked a cobbler he said even he had nothing.

They must be stuck on with something when manufactured.....any clues?

I've had good results with stormsure, just make sure you wash well and degrease . Use plenty of glue and tape up well until dry. And no I do not have any connection to Stormsure only that they make glue that works !!
