What are you paying to insure your Hilux ?

I’ll be shopping around this time as NFU is just too expensive now. Comparison sites suggest I can get the same cover for half the price

What to do is. Call up the company.
Ask for a cheaper deal.
You need to adjust something, down the value of the vehicle, tell them you are now doing less miles, just tell them something.
This will give them a chance to re quote as you have now changed your circumstances.
Works for me in past .

And for me in the past, not this time 🥵

Aye, the mileage claim wouldn't work as I do a fair mileage and have owned from new. I am aware that Hilux is a target for thieves too, which has impacted on premiums. Still, I'd rather pay an extra couple hundred quid than drive a Fordy 🤣

October 24 mine was£520 fully comp/courtsey car few weeks euro cover no extra bla bla for my20 reg barbarian double cab with van compare very nice to deal with

Prices seem to have shot up and down. I was with Admiral 2019-2023. Hovered around the £450 mark. 2024 they quoted me £1200! I shopped around and got £750 from Adrian Flux, who subsequently raised it to £950.

This year, Flux quoted me £550 again.

None of it makes sense.

That's just insurance companies for you. I think they just pick a number!

In proper business terms its called opportunity pricing. Usually works like this, year 1 you get a competitive price to get your business, subsequent years premium priced in the hope that you don't look elsewhere. Usually such quotes contain something along the lines of if you get a better quote give us a chance to match it!

Loyalty doesn't mean a thing now!

I’m £306 with Yoga, for social domestic and pleasure with commuting to work included.

9 years no claims.

2016 Hilux Invincible 2.4 auto.
Hi.
That seems very reasonable, may i ask what your excess is please? My Jeep insurance is due in September.

I spent a while last night doing the search engine thing. Best I could get was about £487 from some completely unheard of mob. My existing Aviva is £627, but get 10% discount from that as it's a multi car policy. There were, as you'd expect, some totally wild quotes, but it would seem that Aviva are actually still quite competitive.
