If you are going to be doing a reasonable amount you pretty well need two saws or am I the only person who has ever had a saw pinched in because I read the stress wrong. May just be me though.
Thats 1 of my main hates about small huskies, they have an external clutch it can be an absolute nightmare getting the bar and chain off them if stuck in timber, a lot of the time u simply can't.
All stihls have internal clutches so an absolute doddle, i usually carry a spare bar and 2 chains in my piece bag anyway, saves a long walk to the motor.
If ur saw is nipped in the top of the log its usually prety easy to drive a wedge in enough to get saw out, a small nylon wedge will do the job most of the time altho if logs ae very tight together u sometimes need a small metal 1 to get them started ( the small magnesium? 1's are fine only 5 quid or so 4"x1" ish)
i have only ever used the basic husky helmets, even years ago when i was climbing.
Comfy enough to wear all day all u really need, no need for the really fancy expensive 1's
I find this to be the best helmet , pfanner protos arborist helmet , probably the most expensive but very comfy and the visor and ear defenders tuck up nicely, they do a ground and climbing version,I still occasionally do a bit of climbing, the ear defenders aint chipper rated but that’s soon sorted with some extra inserts .
