What do you want in a shirt?

We are looking at expanding our range and have another shipment coming next month.

Thank you very much to the various SD members who have ordered and for the very kind feedback and repeat orders. It is greatly appreciated.

We currently only sell the Mens Shirts in Full Button:

We are thinking of also stocking half button, which I will post below, as I have had several requests for them.

I would be interested to know if there is anything else that you are looking for in a shirt? I am exploring the idea of a green / brown colour, which I appreciate will be much more use for stalking here in the UK.

Brushed cotton poppers on cuffs if not all poppers instead of buttons. Maybe elbow patches and a good shirt tail. Obviously in green or brown. Hang on, did i just describe an Harkila?

I rather liked Kim Basinger and Kate Moss in a shirt. Yes, I think that is what I want in a shirt.

PS love the half button but the child in me got the better.
You beat me to it... I was thinking of a busty blonde.. any would do 😊

Green / grey and grey / brown check options would be nice with quite large simple pattern. Cotton drill, cotton flannel and wool flannel options for the different seasons.

Thanks for all the comments. Do you have any preference on weight? Personally, I prefer a heavyweight shirt. Some of the old African bush shirts are seriously heavy duty, but we do have an option for lightweight cloth.

Something heavy like the cotton duck used for the SADF nutria uniform would be good, perhaps a 50/50 NYCO material though, which will dry quicker?

Full button every time , I’m not some bloody continental.

Nice long tail for tucking in is a must. Decent collar that doesn’t sit flat but keeps its shape.
Button and tag on the sleeves for folding them up and holding them there.
Doesn’t fade after two bloody washes , two breast pockets with a decent sized button that isn’t bigger than the hole it goes through. Button hole on left pocket flap for glasses 🤓

Made in the UK. Buttons don’t fall off! Lower button is quite far down so you don’t expose your upper crotch area inadvertently by it splitting left and right.

No chest pockets, esp. not two as I’m not a sailor!

Olive and greens.

No buttons on the collar

Washable at 40

Comes with two spare buttons

Upper arm button and attachment point so instead of rolling up, you can hook the sleeves up on the upper arms.

These features actually would be of interest

A bit of a duplicate of earlier posts but good arm movement for a days work or shooting, long tails - most far too short, can survive a bramble or two and neutral colours and shades.

On a slightly different note, a good light jacket or heavy shirt for increasingly warmer shooting, stalking and beating attire. Until the flush of Scandinavian clothing, most attire was made for standing on a peg and not in the thick of it.
