If you cannot beat them best join them which is bar leaving dodge far easier on the mindTo quote Frazer from Dads Army, We’re Doomed, Doomed !!!
I think an end to s1 and s2 (as far as certification is concerned but the classes will still remain in the Firearms Act) and a "new" all in one certificate charged at the same fee as a Co-Terminous is presently costed. An with it a requirement thats s2 will require a good reason. Which will be regular attendance at a clay ground or demonstrable use on vermin or game. The argument used will be to stop another Plymouth and that as many shooters hold both FAC and SGC that for them it is not an increased cost. Which of course for the person that has only shotguns or only s1 firearms it will be.Remember it’s not about what you want to happen…….
it’s what do you think is going to happen?
There won't be a UK in 20 years
Of course there will, we might all have to visit a mosque every week to stay here thoughThere won't be a UK in 20 years

Are these families shooting on commercial shoots with 200+ birds being shot?Im a bit more hopeful - we have lots of fresh blood joining our shoot and not just young men but ladies and actually families
Its in our hand as much as anyone else's how it all pans out - i notice now on many of the media platforms used by some of the celebratory antis calls to ban course fishing are stirring

This. I can drive from my village to the Co-operative supermarket not two miles away and on route look out my car window and see where in 1861, Bradgate Park, Leicestershire, over three thousand rabbits were shot in a day and at a later time what was supposedly the second highest bag of partridge. And some thirty years earlier over the course of a year rather a lot of cats! There seems a lot on here that think big bags are a recent phenomenon
Possible could come semi full circle and maybe not a bad thing but I got my jollies been a shoot servantBig commercial shoots with wealthy influenctial participants will continue to prosper, smaller working people's shoots will fold under pressure from the antis and be uneconomic in the face of ever more bureaucracy. Get used to beater's days opportunities unless you are in the privileged 1%!
Doesn't really bother me anyway, in 20 years time I shall be growing daisiesPossible could come semi full circle and maybe not a bad thing but I got my jollies been a shoot servantedit, and my chicks for free

Heaven knows where you will find them and for many is/ was what life was about but personally don’t think I will bother, but good luck to all.Wow a lot of thoughts here but most of them not positive for the future of driven game shooting. Personally I enjoy a couple of days driven game shooting and also some walked up rough shooting. There is a lot about shooting that does not make commercial sense.
The longer term future of shooting will depend on the collective collaboration of all shooters, land owners and other country sports people. It is a constant fight that needs to looked at every day to fight all aspects of unnecessary restrictions. Unfortunately each sector of UK shooting sports often seems to throw other groups under the bus far too quickly.
It is going to take a well funded united group of smart active people to lead that fight, are you prepared to fund, participate and come together for the future of your sport?
