Where to get extra strong recoil spring for Benelli m2

Hi all, does anyone know where I can get an extra strong recoil spring for my benelli m2, just having an issue when loading that when u cycle the bolt to put a cartridge in when u pull the bolt back it stays back and isn’t going forward by its self and it’s just getting a little frustrating, I’m hoping an extra strong spring will sort this, if anyone knows of anything else that will fix it please let me know

It's been a few years since I dinked around with M2, but I seem to recall this was a symptom of something not reassembled quite right. Racking my brain right now of what it was, because it happened to me as well.

I'll pull my M2 out of the rack and look it over to see if it rings any bells. I want to say it had something to do with the lifter linkage; one of the sliding rails was impeding/binding the bolt....

cheers, mines done it since the day I got it, it’s the speed version and I wonder if it’s got a lighter spring for shooting lighter cartridges because the bolt runs very smooth but we use 50g for work and I think because there longer it dosent quite have the power to push them up the feed ramp when racked by hand

GMK will have the recoil springs get you gun shop to order one for you.
You can access it through the back of the stock.
I’d personally give it a good clean first they can get full of gunk.

Hmm steady on!
A short recoil shotgun is recoil spring sensitive! A lighter one is needed for heavy cartridges and heavy one for light cartridges.
This is the spring in the bolt!

The bolt return spring maybe the issue or something else.

It’s the bolt return spring we’re on about I think, the one that goes inside the stock, mine dosnt have a ton of power when going forward

Why go extra strong?

If it’s not running smoothly then the gun probably needs a good clean and service rather than more brute force. Crude in the mechanism can slow down shell lifters etc all of which reduce the guns ability to feed properly.

The bolt being held back is probably due the bolt hold open not being tripped by the cartridge on the lifter.

Certainly on my Franchi Affinity (pretty much same as the M2) when I put a cartridge into the ejection port you need to press the bolt release button for bolt to go forward rather than pulling the bolt handle back again. The M2 has its return spring down the stock connected by a rod to the bolt. Plenty of scope for lots of crud to accumulate.

stripping it is the first thing I tried and properly deep cleaned it but it’s been doing it since brand new, how i run it is when im at work I have the tube full and the chamber empty and I press the cartridge release so there’s one sitting underneath the bolt so when I need to use it I can just cycle the bolt and I’m good to go, I have a franchi and it always worked by doing that it’s just the Benelli is getting hung up, got a few mates having the same problem aswell

My m2 speed developed a similar problem
It would work great ,then for no reason the cartridge would just sit on the carrier( or lifter) with the bolt back
I just touched the bottom of the carrier and it loaded the cartridge.
I have cleaned it ( it was not really dirty)
And it still happened at times, very random.
I bought a new cartridge latch snd spring but no better. I have a new recoil spring ordered. Once you start doing a bit of research, it's seems to a known thing that bennilla recoil springs can give problems ehen they become weaker.

Check also the spring inside the bolt, mine broke in to two parts in my benelli comfortech.

That’s very helpful thank you, mines an m2 speed and that’s the exact problem, as soon as you touch the carrier it loads but it’s still frustrating, I’d be really interested to see if the new spring sorts it

I am away just now. The spring is getting posted on 7th August so I sm at home to get it.
It will be a about after thst before I will get a chance to fit and test but will updated once I know
