Which is more handy - single shot or lever action?

I was thinking of a Harrington and Richardson when I saw 'single shot' mentioned.

A Ruger #1A chambered in 444 Marlin with a lead compatible throat would be quite Intresting . I like #1’s much more than #3’s , granted it’s the same action but to me a #1 feels better in my hands atleast .
