On Friday I zero'd my new Blaser .243 which had also come with a Northstar. As well as the excellent noise reduction I was also very pleased with the fact that it didn't unduly affect the balance of the rifle. I have a tin of stove paint and am going to blacken mine to make it less obvious Hopefully between now and the New Year I'll get the chance to take it out for real.

I agree, the balance of my tikka t3 lite has also been largely unaffected.

I hope you manage to christen your mod sometime soon.

A guy at my local gunsmiths got a saddler to make a leather cover for his. None of the neoprene mod covers fit as is a smaller diameter than the industry standard T8. I am going to get my mrs to make one out of an old wetsuit that has holes in it from a shark attack off the coast of Oxford!

Will hope the meet goes ahead in the NY and you can make it as planned.

In the end I went with the Northstar Mod after hearing both the Thirdeye Spartan and Northstar on the end of a .243 rifle being fired.

The Northstar was 50% quieter than the Spartan

Dm80 Mk3 they are made caliber specific and I believe them to be the quietest mod I have used, a close second would be the Pes scout
