Which scope mounts for T1X?

I just bought a T1X (pictured below).

It came with a 0MOA Tikka Picatinny Rail. Cheapish rail, retails for £35. It seems lots of people go for Britannia Rails which is more like £75.

In any case, which rings would people recommend?

Should I consider not using the tikka picatinny because direct mount would be lower to the rifle?

Since the picatinny is 0moa is the only benefit, it being easier to switch to a digital scope etc. If that is the case, what rings are good enough to retain zero after being removed.

I plan to use it with an Element Nexus 5-20x50 (30mm main tube).

I also bought a GRS stock for it, but the roughtech feels pretty nice already.

Perhaps I'm being a bit thick, but I'm not sure what the point of a more expensive rail would be. The main thing limiting the closeness of your scope to the bore axis is the 50mm objective bell rather than the rail itself. If the rail is very tall, you can compensate with shorter rings.

As to "return to zero" rings, Warne QD rings have been reliable for me, but there are several manufacturers with QD Weaver/Picatinny rings that make similar claims. Warne rings are vertical split which is a PITA to set up compared to horizontal, but kept zero even on my 375 H&H for whatever that's worth.

It all comes down to the specific problem you are trying to solve - I would have thought pretty ordinary Weaver type rings would be fine (notwithstanding your interest in QD type setup), as it's not as if you will be dealing with a lot of felt recoil or "ringing steel" at 1000 yards.

There must be a reason the Tikka is supplied with the rail that it is.

I recently tested my rusan quick release rings on my tikka t1x .
I removed them several times and they returned to zero no problem.
I also tried a set of cheap Chinese quick release rings and they returned to zero also.

I've got Leopold QR rings on a couple of scopes and the return to zero is always pretty good as long as you pay attention how to set them up properly.

I've also used standard picatinny rings and again, as long as set up properly and follow the same process to put them back then they also return to zero.

Just found out about this multi-rail by Innomount. Which would allow for any scope I have setup with innomount rings for my blaser to be swapped onto Tikka 22lr: Picatinnyrail

So seems I could have my Element Nexus scope on T1X and switch my Pulsar C50 between blaser r8 and tikka t1x, just switching profiles for the zero.

How fancy do you want to go ?

It’s a rimfire so it puts zero pressure on mounts
Sportsmatch will do the job fine
Niteforce will cost a fortune and look very cool

Take your pick
