Which Secondhand Pickup?

Me too. Seems the difference is my early Rangers and both my Navaras were looked after.
There's a legitimate thing with the d40 nav rotting on the chassis and obviously Nissan did their recall on hundreds and thats not including the ones they still refused in the early days. There are specialists that are still extremely busy with welding the chassis on the d40s still.

I have minimal issue with the mk1 + 2 ranger but after the mk2, they really went down hill.

Frankly, if you've only looked after your own then you're using a really minimal outlook when there's literally thousands of complaints on the d40 alone. The big ends on the d22 saw most of them to the scrap yard and I dare say now rot will have killed the rest of them.

I will never pass up the opportunity to say how utterly garbage the ranger and the support from Ford I had was - I made it clear to them I would never purchase a Ford again. And I won’t.

Had a brand new 3.2 wildtrack. Absolute disaster, engine blew up (washed 3 of the 5 bores) new engine installed after about 9 months of moaning and the car going back and forwards and was told that the engine had a 30 day warranty - no give on that.

Sold it and won’t have one again.

I have used Mitsubishi’s as well and they seemed to be ok but were soft and didn’t last in my opinion.

Hilux - seem to have dropped and rust at the first whiff of moisture now and have DPF issues.

I currently have an Isuzu, and although it is a bit more agricultural than an Amarok or the new ranger raptors it has been very reliable, is well kitted out and feels very sure footed on and off the road. I chose the Isuzu on their reputation and wins on ā€œmost reliable pick upā€ and so far that’s living up to the title.

Regards.

If you want a down to earth review of various pick ups and 4wd vehicles suggest you look at Tommy Autos on you tube

His reviews equal that of top gear , fifth gear etc in a certain earthy style
