Who let the dogs out!

A local trip with Fallow pinging my camara also not coughing like an old steam train which is never a good way to approach a stalking outing I thought "give it a go"
I took the Spaniels as if it was a blank then they could have a blast flushing the number of pheasants who are camped out in this wild bird mix.

Not the quietest of tracks to walk down so it took a while which was fine as that chipped away at deer o'clock, there is no room for anything with these deer so you have to take what is there. These two were walking away from me as I rounded the corner so all I could do was commit with the rifle and sticks and see if my whistle pulled them up, the big doe took one in the ribs and fell over with her youngster walking away but not at pace. I left him be for a few mins then took a very slow walk along the hedge line. He was looking back for his mum which you would expect with a youngster, I picked out his very still neck looking back in my direction and it was all over.

Quite happy the .270 had done it's job then back to the truck which is parked in my usual spot also covers the other productive field, quick glance down that hedge line with the hot head of a muntjac a good 100 + looking my way! Not long to find him out in the scope number three! By now the truck is bouncing around with my 2 wanting out, Finn being the youngest and quite at one finding deer legs I dot around the garden I thought give him a go lol, both dogs had a run on the doe with Finn following the slots and on to it, not deer dogs just dear to me.
Still wheezing from heavy cold so that can't be helped  but Finn had a good run out which is what I wanted.
Doe (quite big) 44kg Buck 25kg dressed.
