Wildfowling clubs

Hi all,

Looking for some local knowledge.

Ive recently moved to Norfolk- Suffolk border near Scole.

Im looking to join a wildfowling club which has shooting close to me, areas which have good shooting (pinks, teal), inland shooting duck ponds, accepting members.

Someone recommended Norwich and District and Great Yarmouth.

google suggested North Suffolk, Rockland (rockland had their shooting areas on website and a few of them were close to me.

I used to be a member of Kent , Holbeach and Ely but now looking for something more local.

If any members local to the area or members of any of the above clubs can help, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Ask Mark @Norfolk Horn

fenland wildfowlers club is good lots of inland ground on the ouse washes and plenty of foreshore ,i have been a member for nearly 25 years .i do not wildfowl much now i do more deer stalking and game shooting but am still a member .have some memories of some good morning flights

Fenland WA is an excellent club but a long way from where you are (in fact not much closer than Holbeach). Norwich and GY look to be your best bet, and they have a lot of ground with good goose numbers ; then Rockland and North Suffolk.

Thanks all. Yes Fenland and holbeach share some common shooting.

Since I have moved, i was looking for something super local to me.

@Basil H thanks for the ranking, really helps me think more clearly.

heve you been a member of any one of these in the past/present or know people who shoot there?

I think North Suffolk Wildfowlers has some open vacancies. A friend of mine lives in Essex and member of this club who says good things about.

I am not aware that Holbeach and Fenland share any shooting - you are probably thinking of Holbeach/Spalding - but they do both shoot on parts of the south shore of the Wash. A fair old run for you.
The Broads clubs mostly shoot grazing marshes and some river margins, the exceptions being Rockland Broad and a wee bit of Breydon (GY). As I recall, NDWA give preference to folk living locally (well east of Swaffham) these days but I may be wrong.
The North Suffolk secretary, Matt Perring, can I believe be found via Facebook or their website.
I do have some personal knowledge of the Wash (first visited 1963) and shooting in the Broads area.
Best of luck with your quest !
