Winchester super -X powerpoint .270

Hi all,

Any thoughts or issues with the Winchester superx rounds? ive bought a couple of boxes in 130 gr .270. I get a good group with them and my Tikka M695 seems to like them apart from -

1) Ejection issue - previous experimenting with PPU, Geko, Federal ammunition has shown no issues at all with ejecting. Have consistent issues in ejecting this winchester brass... Have checked ejector spring and claw etc and all seem okay - either way my bolt doesn't seem to like chucking out the brass!
2) 'dud' rounds - have had two dud rounds in one box - not something i've experienced before in factory ammo... and slightly disconcerting.
3) buggered primer - one round in a separate box has a blown primer as it came out of the box.

Just wondering if I could get some advice on other's experience with this ammunition - is it to be avoided?

TIA

Tom

I picked up a couple of boxes in 150gr for a .308 and everything has been fine - certainly seem to be deer accurate in my rifle, although they have not been used in anger yet. No issues with ejection and certainly no blown primers or duds (so far...).

I would be very tempted to take them back to where they came from and have a conversation. Failure to eject is an inconvenience but the other issues could potentially be dangerous. I think they are at the budget end of the cartridge market but still...
