Yew Tree 6.5 112gr

Thought I’d give Yew Tree’s 112gr hunting bullets a try, should be ok based on my initial 12 round test batch…

6.5CM, initial load 50 though off the lands and started as per @Yew Tree Fieldsports load data, just to see how they shot…

3 shot groups again as much to see what they were chrono’ing at and see how they shot (just in case of a lead ban! 😂)

Still a bit slow most likely so will try a few higher charge weights before increasing the jump. Not bad at just over a 3/4” group though.

One this that was surprising - I was shooting into a soil/gravel bank and dug 5 of the 12 out and there was some significant lumps of copper left! I’ve said it before - would want one of these bouncing off into the horizon!

They wouldn’t look like that if they’d been through an animal!
On the speed front you have a fair way to go on the charge weight range I gave you.
Cheers

Yew tree copper in .243. Using the head start load data Richard gave me.

Are these the hollow point hunting bullets or the tipped bullets?
These are the tipped but based on my experience in .308 and 7mm the HP would probably be similar, the tipped bullets are hunting bullets too, just designed for maintaining the 2000 fps for longer and therefore extending the effective range.

The good old agricultural CZ is a properly accurate rifle too which helps.

Yes, I was wondering how it related to the hollow point bullets the thread was about….?
Because it’s a very similar bullet from the same manufacturer just with an Ali tip!

As it’s a 6.5 2 grains off your bullet it’s probably more relevant than the .243s or .30s posted but you obviously took umbrage to my post….

Didn’t take umbrage - just seemed to turn into a Willy waving thing that really wasn’t that relevant as it’s a different bullet.
