Ruby Tuesday the kc name of my pointer, which was most disapointing for the chap who pm,d mw asking me out for a drink as I was a shooting lass.:love:
 
The pic is of a Welsh tup I bred and did very well with at shows about 12 years ago. I used the same photo on the front cover of the first book I wrote on sheep husbandry.
VSS is short for viable self-sufficiency, my farming ethos and the title of my second book. I was already using that name on a few farming / smallholding / self-sufficiency forums, so I just stuck with it for this one.
 
Takbok is Afrikaans for branch buck, more commonly known as Fallow Deer.

I got a lovely fallow buck on first hunt (in S.Africa). I can remember it pretty well. A good hill stalk with an experienced hunting friend in the hot and dry western cape hills. There was a group of 3 bucks. I Shot the first in the neck at about 70m with my Czech Mauser 98 7.62mm carbine (standard open sights) and he shot another one that ran towards us. We spared the 3rd one.

Mine is from an eastern Canada term . It's actually a derisive name that's meant as an insult . It has connotations of being overly independent , pig headed and distrustful of government authority ............. in other words , me .

the JS was from my old name jockstrap as i wore one when i played semi pro football when i was a lot fitter and younger,
 
Well my name is Simon, although I don't consider myself as overly simple. I do often enjoy the more simple things in life, including pies like my famous nursery rhyme namesake :lol:
