Well, I've got 5 shotguns in my cabinets. There's a Beretta Xtreme (brilliant semi), a Sabatti Alpen Eagle O/U 12 bore (great name, but it's just a substitute game gun. It's got side panels, so has delusions of grandeur), a Kestrel 12 bore SXS sidelock (got it from a pal cheap 'cos I'd never had a sidelock, but it's not got a lot of street cred) and an older Rizzini O/U 12 bore (given to me by someone giving up, boy that thing is heavy, came with two sets of barrels).
But there's only one gun I generally go to because it can do anything, looks fine on a game day, will shoot vermin, pigeons, duck and used it successfully on geese before I got the semi, never misses a beat, is steel proofed, will shoot everything bar 3.5" cartridges is TADA......my 12 bore O/U Beretta Silver Pigeon S. In a lot of ways, it's the Ford Mondeo of shotguns, but Beretta, it has to be said make solid, reliable, long-lasting shotguns. There's a reason they remain at the top of the tree for sales figures.
I should really slim down what I have, seeing some very rarely get an outing. But that silver Pigeon will stay. Hmmm, that would make more room for rifles.....
