Your favourite shotgun...... ?

This is great thread, but it reminds me if the guns I let go and shouldn’t have, so there is a tinge of regret and sadness - I remember I let them go but can’t quite remember why…like many of my girlfriends, except most of them drove me mad eventually. Too many over and unders and not enough side by sides. Don’t get me started on the semi- autos. And that’s just the girl friends…So now I’m reduced to a Benelli Raffaello Black - my beautiful Italian Girlfriend who never puts a foot wrong and her wise and headstrong cousin, a Beretta 692 sporting with gorgeous wood and 30” barrels, who shoots much better than me.

I seem to have ended up with quite a few shotguns which is ironic because I'm 95% rifle.
I too have a single barrel Baikal given to me when I was around 16 by a very good friend sadly long departed who was a community psychiatric nurse, he'd been given it by a patient. I gun I'd never get rid of and has shot more stuff than I care to remember. Utilitarian and workman like but dependable.
I have a Beretta Ultraleggero which is lovely but I've never really gelled with.
But my favourite by far is an early Beretta 682 with lovely wood, very lightly used, and is so heavy that it makes me follow through the shot. Another I'll never get rid of.

Just got two
Benelli m2 which is so so don't shoot it too well.

Then the browning b725 black edition which is comfy and enjoyable to shoot.

My current gun is an Arthur Turner ( Sheffield ) 12ga SLE.

As an early 20 something year old, I used to look at these in Turners gun shop, but the owner would never removed one from the display cabinet for me to look at, because he " possibly presumed " I was not able, then, to afford one !
Ha ha! He who laughs last laughs longest!

I’ve got a plethora of fav shotguns and most all are Parker SxS’s . In gauges 8 , 10 , 12 ,16 and 20 . Had a Parker in 28 but a friend wanted it more than I wanted to keep it . Also have a decided preference for Remington Model 11’s and Belgium made Browning A-5’s . But this really isn’t a fair question for me as I shoot A LOT of clay targets and feathered targets . Almost forgot I have a thing for Krieghoff K-80 K-32 and K-20 guns as well as the predecessor Remington Model 32 . Did I say I shoot shotguns a bunch ???

Hi! I have been a Beretta/Benelli super fan for many years until I tried the new Browning A5... what a great shotgun!

Still shooting some old fine guns too: Beretta S03 and a Fabio Zanotti side by side. both 12.

I love the closing action on the ZH series BRNO u/o guns.
The breach block slides back to unlock as you open it. And they are hugely strong, as they were optionally sold with combination barrels, so built for rifle pressures.
Styling it very 70's 'soviet' looking.
Double trigger and non ejector, so they go for no money. Have picked them up from the local auction. Fiver or tenner a time. But they are actually selectable on the rear trigger, which no-one seems to know.
Seem to have ended up with four of the buggers now.
I bought one brand new from Franconia for my daughter as she said she wanted to do her Jagdschein here in Germany. She did not go through with it so it sits in the cabinet in an oiled bag and has never ever been fired apart from proofing before sale in 12G & 8x57JRS.
My favourite from all that I have is a Thomas Bland Eeuplia 12B the one with the paradoxed rifled chokes it shoots slugs to the sights at 35M from three different shooters and still closes like a bank vault.

I would love a modern side by side with twin triggers, 3" chambers and multichoke for steel. Seems largely unobtainium at a reasonable price
I sold a Zabala sidelock 3" multi choke Fleur de lyes stamped but single trigger a couple of years ago mate.

Sold a silver hawk Beretta 471 that fits your criteria great gun which can be bought on a well known trading website for reasonable prices usually.

I freely admit that I cannot hit a 'flock of barns' with a shotgun.
Something to do with being a lifelong rifle shooter.
Anyway, the only shottie I have had any success with is now illegal in Western Australia and it was a Browning Auto 5 in 12ga.
Got a few foxes off the back of a ute one night (chasing at high speed across the paddocks).
It surprised the hell out of me and I haven't been able to do it again as they all got crushed by the Govt years ago.

I love my Baretta 687 in 20 bore. I have had it for almost 30 years and it is worth far more than I paid for it, though it will never be for sale.
I am also enjoying a new Yildiz over under in 28 bore, for the money it is outstanding.
Tusker
