Zeiss Secacam 5 Question

I've possibly made a bit of a cockup.

I was getting lots of notifications so reduced sensitivity to medium - now i'm getting no pictures come through at all!

The problem is it seems that you can't update the settings (i.e. to revert back to high sensitivity) without receiving a picture first - obviously
i'm not receiving any pictures.

Is my only option to go down there and change it manually?

On high alert at the minute as fox has taken multiple chickens and piglets.

Pretty sure settings should be updated every 24h at a minimum.
They can be set to update more regularly, plus when a photo/video is sent.
The app should tell you the time of the most recent update.

Running seca 3's and using premium plan, can access and make changes instantly in app.
Aye, i've made the changes in the app, but it seems the changes do not come into effect until there is a transmission from the camera, which only happens when a picture is taken or a status update is sent.

Considering heading down to the perm and doing the ½ mile walk up the public footpath, as its all locked up now.

Ah ok. Being trying different sensitivities and makes a big difference. Great kit. Getting good images of deer, which helped me plan and get a fallow buck last night. The colour the night feature is clever. Also AI ID of a pricket from tiny pedicles on its head!

Try logging out of the app, and logging back in, that will sometime reboot the system, I have had to do it to mine once.

Fox finally passed the camera which pushed through all the changes. No sign of any piglets being taken but we will see what today brings

when you have to change batteries- clear and format the a memory card every time-, this also elevates future problems.

Another new secacam user question please. Can I set a delay between image capture? I'm struggling to see where in the menu I can do this but usually have my trailcams set at something like 30 seconds between images to stop loads of images of the same thing being sent.

And any idea how to change the notification sound on iOS?? I can't seem to do it either under iPhone settings or the Zeiss app. It's, err, quite intrusive!!

Ah, got it - "Pause Capture" is the setting to enable a delay (pause) after capture before the next image is taken. Assumed this was an on/off to allow you to pause the camera taking images until you turned it back on but you can adjust the pause duration from 1 second upwards.

Still can't find how to change the notification sound to something less intrusive!

Go to notification settings on your phone, select the Secacam app and change from there

You can’t unfortunately - there’s no option to change it like there is for messages etc 3rd party apps generally can’t do this and should use the default tone. Problem is the Secacam app plays an irritating tune rather than just a single ping (like my other apps).

Zeiss support has confirmed there is no option to change it 😔😔

Embrace the notifications 😊- it a standing joke in our house. As soon as a notification is received. Anyone in the house asks what’s on the camera.
