Zero compromise scopes

Has anybody handled these optics or have one?
I’m interested to know just how good they are, never been one for extremely high end scopes but every now and then an itch comes out of nowhere.....

ive seen videos on the internet but not much else really.

What do you want to use it for?

Seen far too many (myself included!) go out and buy 'the best' be it a PM2, Z8i or whatever when a smaller, lighter scope would have worked better for them and cost lest.

A Ferrari isn't good for shopping and school runs much in the same way the new Land Rover doesn't belong on a farm

Ask yourself, do I want or need:

First Focal Plane reticle (theoretically better for targets, but worse eye relief)

Side focus/parallax (again, theoretically better but it's another dial to move)

Elevation and windage turrets (do you 'dial up' often? Do you really need a multi-turn option?)

Reticle illumination (very very few are daylight bright and many of those who night shoot still prefer an unlit reticle if using a lamp- although thermal/NV scopes may soon make the lamp redundant!)

Tube diameter- (1 inch/30mm/34mm/40mm??!) Bigger is seldom better!

America is by far the best place to buy the cheaper, lighter scopes (Leupold, Vortex, etc with discounts and rebates) but for the very top tier Euro glass (S&B, Swaro and Leica) then UK prices are still competitive, for the time being!

Had a look through one at a range recently....I had never heard of them to be honest...and it certainly didn’t look like it was £1500 better than a Z6 (although is a z6\z8 £1000 better than a Ziess Duralyt?) it had plenty of twiddly bits and was on a dedicated target rifle - the plus would be the increased mag but other than that I’m not sure.

FYI, one of the top guys in the company (Jeff Huber) used to work for Nightforce and then for Kahles!

Also, Nick Gebhardt (not sure on his role but high up) has a strong presence on the Sniper’s Hide forum and will respond individually to people.
Nice to see that level of service from a company!

Completely not what was written & no idea where you read into that from. If I were coughing up that much money I would spend it on established brands.

I think they are top tier glass. I thought about one for a while and then decided three grand could be spent better elsewhere.

They are without a doubt top glass and repeatable turrets. As is a kahles an ATACR possibly the new Nx8 or a Schmidt and bender.

If you fancy giving one a try give it a go.Is there anything massive between it and a scope a third of its price possibly not.

If I was mounting it on a 338 in Helmand I would want the best. For a range in Scotland I’ll settle for a reliable scope with decent glass and tracking.
i I have been round the merry go round of scopes and have now settled on Meopta as the balance between quality and cost on my stalking rifle. A delta javelin on my target rifle. For the cost and features I’m happy.

Optics warehouse did have some ex demo ZCO scopes in the other week which were well priced.

The lifetime warranty is also a good feature should you be in need of it. From reading reports in the US, it doesn’t sound like it’ll be used but I guess it’d be reassuring!

ZCO seems to be the new go to scope amongst some of the US PRS shooters.

Check out the dark lord of optics channel on YouTube, on one of the Q&A sessions had a top PRS shooter on there who had gone to ZCO, he was impressed.

Vortex are not in the same class, I know I have several.

If you're working hard and long enough that you can afford it, treat yourself and scratch that itch.

You'll be dead long enough.

Yes they work up to a point, but they are not anywhere near Schmitt or ZCO. clarity or swaro dusk performance and only the very top of the range come with guaranteed repeatability and maybe you should read reports on the Strike Eagle.

Back to the OP go for it if can afford it.

No I didn’t, as without looking at one in person and testing it out I wouldn’t. I would love to give one a try tho
