Boar have moved in

cannot wait, bloody weather. I thought you may have made the NV, anyway, will take my new thermal over for you to have a play with. it is stunning!

And you kn ow i dont do patience!

Thermal eh!

You have more toys than Toys 'R' Us!

Thatl be handy, a litter of cubs has just appeared so thats a starter.

Chuckle, maximises my chances with my limited time. And i like toys! keep Thursday and sat eve clear, and perhaps book a table for Sat.

They are all yours Dave. Need to give them a rest for a few days anyway.

Better bring a BIG bag of patience with you.

im hooked on the NV. Got the go ahead from the boss this morning for purchasing our own stuff, pretty healthy budget too so il be ordering an Armasight Drone Pro x10 and trimmings first thing tomorrow morning.

I went up to the feed this morning and the remaining 2 pigs had been back and emptied the feed drum after being shot at! I couldn't believe it when I saw the drum was empty. Brave little things.

Interesting they came back Dan , ive only seen that once , we shot one dragged it off about 100m and started gralloching my mate said i can hear them back at the food and sneaked off , came back ten mins later with another one:D

I thought I'd give this thread an update.

since the last time I posted I caught up with the two remaining boar within a fortnight with the aid of a Drone Pro.

it has been quiet since with no sign of any pigs......until two weeks ago. We now have a couple of sites that are feeding every night, one of the pigs is a spotty thing, again a male around the forty kilo mark.

they all seemed to appear at the same time, albeit at either ends of the Estate. One pig has burst a deer fence on a plantation and now we have a deer problem too.

The Drone Pro is certainly a nice bit of kit....

Strangely we haven't had the feeding damage or population explosion people thought we would.

excuse the IR flare from the spycam, we ran out of post height.

A 10sec clip of a spotty Wild Boar we have at the minute. This little piggy.... visited two different bait barrels in th same night, the barrels are somewhere in the region of 6 miles apart and a climb of 1000ft over the hills. I wouldn't have believed it unless id seen it myself.

They just should not be there, and the damage i saw was incredible. What a power they have. One day i will get one, till then i will keep chasing your reds!

Over with us the F.C estimated 800 pigs and a target cull of 400. They managed to get about 350 but their recent thermal survey from an aircraft identified over 1200 pigs.

They have started their cull already, a month earlier than planned and said they are not putting any limits on numbers culled this year.

I suspect they may do a bit better if they would only try night shooting instead of just during the day.
