Foxing round

Anything that shoots well in your 243 as long as it is not a target bullet - they can cause runners on body shots

anything that shoots straight and expands. i use 70grain nosler ballistic tip and 100grain scierra spbt both with H4895. terminal effect very similar to be honest. find out what shoots well in your rifle and stick with it.

A VMax or Varmint-type Ballistic Tip that is going to cause as much damage as possible.
I have seen good things of the 58grn VMax and 55 & 70grn Nosler Ballistic Tips already mentioned.

At least then if your shot placement isn't perfect, it is still going to put it down in a hurry. This is obviously better for the fox and makes it easier for you to then find it.

As such bullets will normally be a light for calibre, they also tend to have other benefit of being driven fast and are comparably flat shooting which is helpful.

That said, if I am stalking and a fox appears, I'll use whatever is in the chamber if it presents a shot.

Whatever you can drive fast and straight.
Barrel twist is? Fast twist (1:8 etc) may not work well with shorter bullets.
I use Nosler 70gn Ballistic Tips but that's cos I have 200 in the drawer.
See if you can obtain a handful of a few different bullets in the lighter weights and try them.

I've just started reloading 85 Grain Sierra Game Kings as a bullet for both roe and Fox. I'm yet to shoot anything living with them yet but their accuracy is outstanding. I doubt any Fox will complain about being hit with one though.

I used to use 87 grn vmax and they was great i was never a fan of lighter bullets they seem to be fast but got a rubbish bc so not very good in the wind so i kept with the 87 vmax but if u got a fast twist like 1:8 go for 105 grn amax they are great for long range and fox foxes

+ 2 on the 58gr V max. More in terms of accuracy I think though rather than just terminal ballistics. I have shot foxes with most of my rifles and never had one run off. Fast and flat is a handy thing when Charlie pops up out of nowhere.

105gr Amax, turns them into a bag of jelly.
+ 1 on the 105 gr Amax I had a vixen this afternoon at more than 100 mts at a clearing in the woods I hit her under the left eye and now she has a big hole where her right ear used to be . cracking bullet its a shame there not deer legal .
