Don't confuse the echo chamber here with reality. The people who tend to capture attention are very much in a minortiy.
99.9% of the population are keeping their heads down, keeping calm, and carrying on.

And some of the responses on the SD to this and other threads just reinforces this feeling.
Quite agree with all that has been said. Our country is in a mess politically and is isolating ourselves more and more. What is now apparent is the mistruths told to us by the exit campaign with regards to us being better off out of Europe. On top of this is Nigel behaving in such an unacceptable way that statesmen from the world described him as "an idiot"!
This is how our country is now being seen by those we want to have trade agreements with.
our only friends seem to be the far right in Europe which is a worrying alliance if ever there was one and can only support the right wing like Nigel's mates in this country.
I fear that the xenophobia seen is just the start and unless we try and control it now we may see more organised race riots as we have in the past. History tells us that extremist politics benefit at times of unrest and uncertainty let's hope we don't repeat it this time.

I have to say, going by your location stated, perhaps you don't see the full picture. Last time I was in Cornwall (for 6 months) I don't recollect once being told "white people are not allowed down this road, it's Asian". Nor did I see any ghetto's, neither did I see gangs of Asian youths on street corners.
Perhaps it's altered now and you do experience what inner city's do.?
I don't experience it either..yet...but I firmly believe that is the main reason we voted out.
Our governments have allowed our culture and way of life to be inextricably eroded ,so much so, that it has come to this. The welcome mats on our parents doorsteps have been exploited and removed......
and surprise, surprise, the media have not covered people who voted for sovereignty, only those who voted against migration...I know why I voted the way I did. It had nothing to do with racism and everything to do with sovereignty.
So, at least some people voted to leave the EU because they have a sense of resentment against ethnic minorities from South Asia. You could not make it up.
It was my understanding that we voted out because it was one of the ways to reduce uncontrolled immigration, we voted out because our laws are made elsewhere and somewhat onerous in, for example, the case against extremist muslim clerics and the murderer of the teacher. There are a million reasons but none of them were about racism - nothing has changed and if the racists feel emboldened by a vote to leave Europe, its up to the majority to tell them to get back in their cage. We do actually have our own law against racism - nothing has changed or invalidated that.
Too much rubbish I am afraid by those who wish to foment unrest - go home there isnt any.

^^ and that's the basis of you voting to leave the EU, halal meat and Muslims ? You mean you are risking the economy and the Union because the EU has foisted halal on you against your culture. Cool bro
How about Brexiters and the English cultural preservation faction keep to their sunny uplands and land of milk and honey thread, and majority of Scots and remainers have this thread ?
Right I'm off morris dancing.

John Kerry: Brexit could be 'walked back' | US news | The Guardian
A nice Churchill quote:
We hope to see a Europe where men of every country will think as much of being a European as ofbelonging to their native land, and that without losing any of their love and loyalty of their birthplace. Wehope wherever they go in this wide domain, to which we set no limits in the European Continent, they willtruly feel "Here I am at home. I am a citizen of this country too". Let us meet together. Let us work together.Let us do our utmost—all that is in us—for the good of all. How simple it would all be, how crowned withblessings for all of us if that could ever come, especially for the children and young men and women nowgrowing up in this tortured world. How proud we should all be if we had played any useful part in bringingthat great day to come. And here I invoke the interest of the broad, proletarian masses. We see before oureyes scores of millions of humble homes in Europe and in lands outside which have been afflicted by war.

If half the dirt on John Kerry was posted, it would crash this website.
To stay on these issues, Kerry has his job because he is part of the Ideologues in Denial who run the Democratic Party. He was put there to cover up the failures of Hillary Clinton and echo the delusional rhetoric of Barack Obama. All these people believe, going back to the days when they were indoctrinated by communist adult mentors, that the USA is a bully and all the Europeans and UK are colonial powers who are always the problem.
Obama declared that, "ISIS is on the run, losing territory."
His CIA Director then said, under oath, that we have only retaken 2% of ISIS territory.
Kerry said that the attacks in Orlando and Turkey, "are acts of desperation, when you know you are losing."
Kerry's dimwit blonde spokeschick said today that the solution for radical Jihad is "jobs training".
They are all believers in world government, and in the interim, regional superstates. They are incompetent wannabe elitists who don't have the talent to be elite... just like EU parliament. They have total disdain for the "little people", who reject their crazy ideologies. So the common people have to be deceived, forced, and frightened into doing what these elites know is best for them - but not for the elites; they have their own set of rules. The are not liberals. They are just like their "liberal" predecessors who were infatuated with Mussolini and Hitler, and totally surprised when the bullets started flying.
