Urban fox problem, advise please

I have a friend who does fox control in London - and he uses a centrefire!

lived in london for 3 years
shot numerous things in my garden
have shot numerous foxes in my and other people's
never been seen either shooting or retrieving quarry, never had a complaint or had any "chaos"

why would there be chaos? we are not using unmoderated .270s!

people do this for a job without fuss.

If you have managed to shoot numerous foxes in zone 1 or 2 firstly lucky you for having a garden and lucky you for not getting any form of **** from it. I can assure its not the norm otherwise the fox in our garden would have had a 22 through it rather than letting the council odd jobs deal with it.

This is a roe doe head ( I had shot her with the 270) shot with an air rifle. The pellet was lodged at the back of the skull. Foxes easy

Sorry I understood it that Ranger had shot the beast as said with a .270

Then I'm assuming / assumed he had then taken the head and shot it with an air rifle by way / means of experimenting ? Seeing what air rifle could do

He does say pellet lodged back of head so I can't see a roe wandering around with a pellet going thru from front to back

Or have I read it wrong ?

I have a mounted Roe Head that is malformed' on inspection it would seen that prior to me taking it out with a 6.5 someone some time ago had shot at it with a .22 The path of entry was front to back between the eyes, through the right pedicle and above the eye socket. It had survived that trauma and was even trying his luck during the rut. (which ran out when I caught up with him)

Read the post and due to the way it was written read it as you shot the beast with a .270 AFTER someone shot it with a an air rifle.

Get a subsonic .22 rnd and remove the wax in the tip with a 5mm drill bit makes it even quieter

other than that it's very much a case of making sure the fox is dead in the area you have performed a risk assesment on and deemed safe as per the conditions on your firearm licence.

Not exactly how I phrased it, but I did include something similar in the risk assessment I put together to give the police and council when I was controlling urban foxes.
