17 Hornet Double Rifle

Combining recent threads on Double Rifles and the 17 Hornet - well you can have your cake and eat it.



Saw details posted on Nitro Express in the Double Rifle section but it is designed and built by Peter hofer. Peter Hofer Jagdwaffen - Readily available : Double barrel rifle, calibre 22/22 Hornet or 17/17HMR (Hornady)

Apart from costing excess of the best London guns I'd hope it had a scope mount. Would you buy a double 17HMR if it cost only 3000 quid?

If so the .17 variety seems as has been pointed out, to be an HMR. Indeed, it is probably the only .17 HMR a sane man would buy; as it allows both a safe second shot after a suspected squib, and an easy view up both barrels to check for lurking bullets. All it lacks is ramrod pipes, so that an obstruction-clearer can be carried unobtrusively.
