Mel b3 being robbed.

I see the Mel has been spouting that he's been robbed and is ceasing trading because of it. People are saying name and shame the forum member was me! But I'd like to inform members of the SD the accusation is not true.

I enquired last month if he was still making the 16 round bullet wallets for a .22 Hornet as I wished to purchase another. He replied yes @ £15 but the leather may be different in colour. I did not reply to his pm as I'm busy. But just as I was heading on holiday a wallet arrived from Mel although I'd not agreeing to buy it.

Then on holiday I get a message regarding the item. To which I replied I didn't agree to the purchase but I'd sort when home. I genuinely forgot and with holiday, home to work etc it wasn't on the top of my list. Receiving a pm from him yesterday and it was laughable because a civil pm would have done.

I make no excuses for forgetting as a mistake there was no malice intended. But to state it's because of me he will no longer trade on here is pathetic. I was never rude in my correspondence to him but offended of being accused of a thief. I've paid because I can not find it but if I do it will be returned and I expect a refund.

I could put up the pm sent back and forth but I expect the moderators can see them and I've done nothing wrong this is the purpose of my post.

Kind regards Andrew.

I run my own shooting group on FB and many members are on here. They will all vouch that I'm no thief or cheat.

Andrew,I can hardly see anyone giving up a lucrative part of his business for the sake of fifteen quid.
Perhaps this misunderstanding can all be ironed out when the fellow gets over his initial grieving/bereavement...

I might sure if you return the item he'll refund you.
if you don't why shouldn't you pay for it? I can imagine him getting annoyed at not being sent the money.....

If I find it I will but the fact remains he sent it without me agreeing to it. Now I have to pay to return it seems a bit backwards when I genuinely forget all about it. But he's paid I've a wallet but I'm no thief that's the real point.

Andrew

I can't see that there's anything to be gained by raking over this. Best just drop it. Mel has got enough on his plate right now. Clearly there's been a misunderstanding. Let's just leave it at that, shall we?

Hmm, got to be a misunderstanding this one ! I know Mel quite well and (A) he wouldn't deliberately lie over something like this, and (B) he would sooner give an item away than cause upset !

Think this should be let lie a while until Mel gets over losing his dad, he doesn't need this now. Let's all do the decent thing and put this thread to sleep for a while.

I've had things off Mel that he wouldn't take payment for. 'Have it as a sample' was his mantra. Fortunately, I have Lin's account details - so I made deposit anyway.

I find the above so out of character I am struggling to believe we're talking about the same member.

Having dealt with and met Mel i would say his integrity is second to none.
Just an utter shame that his name and previous good character has been brought into question.

I can't see how you can forget to pay for something that was received and was probably of good quality too and something that was wanted in the first place.
If I did forget and was reminded, I would have felt guilty and paid up immediately with lots of apologies too.
Mel didn't name anybody so perhaps a pricked conscience made Andrew jump in now and an apology and payment would have sorted this without acrimony.

As I said earlier, this should be put to rest until Mel has got over his loss. This isn't fair on either party, and particularly Mel who may feel obliged to answer although nothing will be further from his mind at the moment.

Mods, can we shut this one down for a few weeks ?

I find this post staggering.
I am away for a few days break but can see this post going wrong.
Over £15 and the fact the poster claims he forgot. Plus a man has lost his farther and a post has been put up.

It beggars belief.
