Hi all,
I've joined this forum after reading about it online. Apparently it is the best way to learn about Deer Stalking and interract with experienced Deer Stalkers and other like-minded people.
I'm completely new to Deer Stalking. I haven't done it before and have had no hunting training or experience, but it's something I want to do and will soon start looking for a beginners course.
I'm former Territorial Army so have shot military grade rifles (the SA80), and I also have a firearms license and am a member of a Rifle Club where I have only ever used a .22.
I have found that shooting at paper targets is becoming rather boring and repetetive, and I would like more of a challenge. I love animals, especially dogs, but I would have no problem with shooting deer and I like the idea of learning to hunt and then using the killed deer for meat. It's very primal and I would love to re-learn some of these ancient skills that mankind has lost over the millenias.
I don't know anyone else who does Deer Stalking, and as I live in an urban jungle (London) it is not exactly a typical hobby of Londoners, or of women in general. I look forward to learning lots of useful info on this forum.
