King brand Japanese sharpening stone package with adjustable holder from the Ray Mears/Woodlore shop. Best Xmas present form the Mother-In-Law in years!

Of course you've got to know or learn how to use them but once you have you won't go near the many less than ideal alternatives.

Good:

Muckboots. Warm, comfortable, supporting. Not perfect though. Slippy on hard surfaces and could last longer. Price has crept up too.
Sako anything. Rifles and ammunition anyway. Tikka too.
Harkila. Clothes and wellies. Perhaps not their boots by all accounts. The prices are something else though.
Land Rover Discovery 4. Obviously Land Rover are Marmite things. But this car hasn't let me down in 4 years, goes where I want, can pull a train, is comfy and even still scrubs up well.
Beretta shotguns. They just work. And look good.
Zeiss and Meopro scopes. Do the trick for me.
Cheese and chocolate. I need help.

BAD:

Jack Pyke. Purveyor of waterproof, breathable clothing that aren't either. Stitching done by monkeys. Price isn't everything.
Shooting Times. Gets thinner by the week and the price gets thicker. But I am still strangely drawn to it. I need help here too.
Any make of shotgun cartridge. They all have a bird shaped hole in the middle of the pattern.
Facebook. The Devil's work. Ideal for fooling everyone as to what your life is really like.
Christmas after about 3 days.

Good
Black Rifle Coffee (their adverts are not for the politically correct or hipsters)
7x57 RWS ammunition it is worth it
Remington Rolling block in .43" Spanish it's a whole lot of fun to shoot

Bad
Swarovski Z6i 1-6 x24 have not been able to get that zeroed for elevation on any of my rifles despite numerous mounts and rings (might be a Friday afternoon job)
