We tend to book or start preparations on our way home from recently finished drives , just counting down to end November beginning December

Gone a bit crazy with trips this year. I'm not one for wishing my life away, but I just can't wait for my first trip, on the 1st of October.

I spent an hour at the Holland, & Holland shooting cinema on Saturday, for a bit of practise. Excellent set up, with lots of shooting scenarios, and also got to use the double, standing at about 12yrds, for some quicker close to shooting.

I'm just waiting for my ammunition order to arrive, and I'll be set for the season :D

My rifles are always sighted in and ready to go. Plenty of ammo loaded. Moose hunting here in October and the first week in November back to England for a bit of stalking. Two weekends in Hungary in January for driven boar and red hinds. I was out in the garden practicing with the double rifle last weekend using up some odds and ends of 8x57jrs ammo.I'll have a couple of visits to the shooting cinema before my trip to hungary and every weekend till the middle of October down the running moose range. Thinking about what hunting trip i can treat myself to for my 70th in February.

Alan

I booked with No hassle Lufthansa so easy even I can do it .we fly Manchester to Munich with an hour+ stop over and then on to Zagreb .
Customs is quicker and there are fewer shooters traveling From Manchester so no handling delays like Heathrow !!!!! Also Manchester is only 120 miles so no hotel needed or a 5+hr drive down south to that there London which is a bonus :)

Yep me too. I booked my October trip with Lufthansa because at that time Croatia Airlines were not taking Firearms. We have a group flying from Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol, the first leg is with BMI and we all land in Munich at various times but all take the last leg with Lufthansa and landing in Zagreb between 13.10 and 13.20hrs.
My next trip in November I booked with Croatian airlines and what a carry on !
I had to book my flight and then telephone Croatian Airlines in Zagreb to book the firearm quoting my booking reference. I have ended up with a Flight ticket and a Firearm authority to carry and paid for, ticket.
The Lufthansa flight was cheaper to book but the firearm has to be paid for at the airport £50 each way but I reckon coming back it will be 50 Euros.
October and November booked so far ;-)

If you can get 2 guns in to 1 case it is the same price with lufthansa or it was last year we are taking 2 guns that way this year again fingers crossed.

Hi reiver, I agree with your post but I think the two guns/rifles have to be the same calibre. I may be wrong and that will be a first for somebody on SD will admit to.:thumb:

It did not mater last year when we did it . Or other times when I have taken 2 Guns in other years I will check again before we fly though just in case!

Eddy,

yes, shared an hour with a friend. Great fun, but went far too quickly.

Hadn’t checked the zero on the 9.3x62 for a long time, so thought it was best to do it before going to Serbia. Two shots 100yds. That will do

Also so needed to zero a new thermal on the 7x64, for shooting boar from the high seat.

Four shots at 50yds, happy. 2 with mod’, 2 with muzzle brake ! Shot sub inch at 100yds, but forgot to take a picture.

Yes I saw you put a couple of good shots down range but then Mark C, AKA A! Decoy, didn't show any carp shooting at all ;-)

I have thought about taking two barrels, 30-06 and .308 particularly when having the opportunity to shoot from a high seat using the .308 and using the 30-06 just for Driven as that is about all that will fit in my Blaser case :-(

Only 4 weeks to go and we have 2days in Estonia boar and moose driven. Looking forward to using the Browning blr 308.. More importantly very much looking forward to seeing my old friends from Finland. Hangover here we come!

Start next month in Croatia, then Serbia in November, Croatia again in December and Hungary in January. Using Manchester (first time) Heathrow and Gatwick so it will be interesting comparing airports. Everything sorted and ready to pack apart from a little work with the 9.3x74 with a scope on as an alternative to the red dot.
excitement building and really looking forward to meeting up with some old faces again.

Croatia next month, Croatia again November, nothing definite for December - yet, Hungary in January.
Watching the £ against the Euro and grabbing a handful as and when it peaks ;-)
