100 yrd Zero on a Metric 100m Range

the difference between 100yds and 100mtrs in the real world would be less than breathing in or out at the wrong moment.

You all just worry too much!

??

Who does?

Every poster contributing to this thread has said it is nothing to worry about so far.

We are all in agreement about the OP's yard/metres difference question...apart from you and JTO who haven't committed one way or the other, but he apparently found the unanimity tedious. :)

Sorry Alan, my comment was meant to be taken with a bit of Humour. Something you must be short of

So since you have asked for a contribution from myself. Here it is. In real practical terms it wont really be noticed if you zero at the difference between 100 yards or 100 metres even when you then use that zero as a reference point to shoot at extended practical deer shooting ranges. An important note on that front is to try these various intended ranges on paper before ever shooting at animals.

Ouch.

hopefully your bullet will be approx 1inch high all the way from between 80 yards and 120yards.
remember it will be 1 1/2 to 2 inches low at short range ( 0 to 20 yards) because of you scope height.
you could of course go metric 2.54 cm:cool:

You had better hope that it is a 0.1 MOA grouping rifle in order to tell if you are 1'' or 1.3'' high!

Surprised to hear someone who is clearly interested in precision buying into the 'one inch high and hope for the best' method of zeroing/shooting?

haha, spot on mate.

Yes, find out the the ballistic chart by whatever way you want but I recommend that you try shooting at these different distances on paper. This confirms what the ballistic chart says is actually happening on paper targets, demonstrates the abilities of yourself and the equipment and gives you some practise

Don't worry about it mate, your kit will be better than you so you will never be able to adjust and see the difference thus make any provision for this differential. Equally if your so bothered by being precise why have it 1 inch high. zero means zero at 100 yrds / or 100m in my views! (Can of worms opened!).

Either that or get a ballistics calc, zero it and click once up or down once..... or up for yards / down for M, or is it the other way round..... er..... just point and shoot the bl**dy thing!

Enjoy you range time!
