Muzzle Brake for Blaser R8

Hi,

I have a Blaser R8 with a .308 fluted match barrel. Thread is 18 x 1. I want to put a muzzle brake on it fro driven shooting

Can anyone recommend a good muzzle brake? I know Blaser do one as well as a lot on independents. Anyone got experience of any?

I have a beauty made by James of Jager SA, get in touch with him and see what he can do.
My barrel is a Fluted semi weight but I am sure the match barrel will make no difference to him.

I was recommended NOT to get the Blaser brake, by a Blaser dealer.

I was recommended an after market brake, sold by Swillingtons. When it arrived, I was extremely dubious, because it was so small, I thought I was wasting my time.

WRONG !

First off, I noticed the threads were a really nice, snug fit. Mine was for a 17mm profile 300wm barrel, loaded with 200gn Norma Oryx. It transformed the rifle, and reduced muzzle flip. I know Swillington stock the 18x1mm version too.

Try Dolphin Gun Company (Dolphin Gun Company | New Dolphin Muzzle brake), they list M18x1 but will make to any thread. £140. Excellent brake in my opinion.

The brake is stainless steel and self timing. Extra ports on request.
