Has anybody been out to Hockwold on the BASC permission in the last few weeks?
I am out next week and wondered what success (or otherwise) others have been having.

Had our group cull cancelled for this weekend as there was too much disturbance aparently.

Not 100% sure (think forestry work and phesant shoots) but it was enough for them to refund us all our money so must have been bad to render the outings that much of a waste of time.

As a post script, I had a couple of educational and exciting outings with Rob Minty over the last two days.
Yes, the area is compromised with much forestry activity and a fair smattering of dog walkers et al but Rob worked extremely hard to get me a shot. If I hadn't been so slow on getting up on sticks plus an unfortunate branch right across my line of fire, I would have hopefully had a buck munty last night and this morning we saw about 6 roe bucks before we found a doe in a good spot. She went straight down to a h/l shot and I got to practise my gralloching under expert supervision. RESULT!
Really enjoyed the two outings and would go again in a heart beat.
