Condemned

Anyone who has carcasses as an addition to their wage to bump it up wants their head testing!

The price of carcasses is what it is now it will never go up much always guaranteed as soon as those dark nights come and the price will drop and why is that? Purely because people rely upon thermal to much.

I know several guys that if thermal was banned tomorrow they would absolutely have a fanny fart and shite the bed because they no longer feel comfortable or know how to use proper glass and unfortunately there’s a considerable few on this very site that is exactly the same truth to be told

Most traditional highland estates couldn’t care a toss about the carcass price

They are some of the worst when it comes to carcass quality.

Their bills get paid but outing fees and accommodation and trophy fees

That I do not deny, I tracked for a well known outfitter who told me as soon as a bullet is designed that when it hits the carcass it vaporises the carcass and and leaves the head , life would be a lot easier!

That is a statement I now agree with!

It will have stopped by the time the stalker has waited the recommended 10 minutes or so before approaching the carcass. That's the main thing.
If it hasn't stopped by that time then it's a wounded animal, not a dead one.
This is exactly the point Peter Green was making, the recommended 5 or 10 min wait is for heart shot deer only, neck or head shot deer should be followed up ASAP

They have all had their warnings , the ones I know of anyway.

Most leases now will have rights reserved for contractors upon signing the agreement.

If culls aren’t met.
Been like that for years , I was in for a piece of ground and it was in the agreement that the landowner had the night shoot licence and he had the stags 😉needless to say I wasn’t interested as it was a lot of money .

Why?
If you're sat in a highseat for two hours, let's say as part of a group cull where you cannot leave your seat until the prearranged time (for obvious safety reasons), and you drop a deer to a head or neck shot within the first five minutes, it's got to lay there where it fell until the end of the session.

And anyway, regardless of whether there's a prearranged duration of your highseat session, who in their right mind would get down from their seat to retrieve and gralloch a deer immediately after shooting it when there's a good chance that sitting for another hour or so will result in more kills? It just doesn't happen. You sort out all the dead deer at the end.

I thought that's been the case for a long time. I've heard many a tale about contractors going in when the syndicate members aren't there.
Booking systems are just a means that paying members don’t bump into contractors.

Don’t get me wrong there’s two sides.
Meet your culls and you won’t get problems.

Trouble is, if the lease holders find out, they can push for legal compensation unless they’ve failed to meet agreed targets.
The bits I’ve seen where the sporting tenants got kicked off, they’d been warned several times. They’d been given clear cull targets that they’d failed to meet 2 years running, and had poor tree damage assessments.

They just didn’t take it seriously.

I had thermal video of one bit bordering my ground: 20+ roe deer in one 500m ride. They were shooting 2-3 a year from the whole area. Trophy bucks only.

I saw a cull report from an astronomically sized bit of ground.

Cull report

1 stag.

To echo your comments , leases have had their warnings x3
Lease money reduced and told to use it in diesel to visit more

Then finally the night licence team got set loose

One particular plantation lost a lot of newly planted trees to the “it’s good to see them” team.
