They probably aren't being screwed to the floorboards to make an example of through fear that their gentleman's club will fail and it's boardroom will all have to start working for a living without all the extravagant perks paid for by the working class massesI'm just curious, how do nations that aren't part of the EU but founded in Western Democracy seem to be surviving?
Odd isn't it? 92% of the nations and peoples of the Earth are not in the EU but they seem to scrape along OK and many are thriving and actually increasing their share of global economic activity while the EU's share has been steadily declining for the last 25 years.I'm just curious, how do nations that aren't part of the EU but founded in Western Democracy seem to be surviving?
Just so we're clear: I'm not primarily scared of leaving the EU. I'm actively in favour of not only staying in, but being a far more active participant. Boom.

Everywhere you look in the world there are self-governing democracies that are peaceful and prospering. In fact, the countries that are not peaceful and prospering are generally those that are not democratic.
How do the world's free and independent nations manage to survive without an unelected and authoritarian politburo to run things for them? It's a mystery.
You're right, I retain my European citizenship and vote in the French European elections. But it makes a fat lot of difference if I live outside the EU. But it's not about me specifically, it's about an entire country, which is also mine. You'll still be a member I though, well at least till it either goes up in a puff of smoke, or france pulls out as well.

One vote in each jurisdiction. We have a UK MP, and French MP for overseas citizens. The ability to vote in the European elections despite being overseas is new and down to member states to implement. It's because MEPs will now be elected by PR for the entire country. So where you are is irrelevant. It will be interesting to see how that works out. Going to be a very important Euro election, this one.HHMMN, One man one vote ... EER No! One man TWO votes then.![]()

Seeing how the Brexit is functioning then ASP will cause utter chaos here but as a non pig farmer it will be fun to watch all the headless politicians running around making excuses for why they cannot control it.
