I'll be voting for whichever party is most likely to deliver a proper Brexit. That rules out all the main parties and all independents because they will never play any part in government. The only party that actually believes in Brexit is Farage's Brexit party. I'm not voting for Farage's personality, though I have nothing against him in that regard. And I can even forgive him his egotism because he's been the only politician with the mettle to persist with the cause of Brexit where all others who have claimed to support it have at some point buckled, wavered or kept their heads down for the sake of their careers. Or in the case of Gove, performed outright U-turns.
His politics is the only brand in the UK right now which actually does what it says on the tin. I don't care about the rest. I don't care about the NHS, schools, hospitals, roads, "the environment", shooting frankly, because none of these issues can be addressed with any degree of honesty, long term commitment or clarity until Brexit is satisfactorily concluded.
The threat of Farage was what delivered the referendum in the first place. The political establishment just didn't take it the outcome seriously. They thought a shadow show would suffice to put the electorate back in their box and then they could just go back to business as usual. There can be no usual business until this is done and it will never be done without the threat of Farage once more.. I don't care whether he' a nice person or not, whether he's a demagogue, a populist or any other meaningless label you care to hang on him. I'll vote for him because he's the only person in British politics who actually believes in Brexit and is prepared to see it through, and if that leads to the collapse of the government and the break up of the main parties, even a short lived and chaotic Marxist administration, so be it. This time it's a case of in it til the finish. Nothing else matters until this is done.
