How’do All!
Well, finally managed to line days off up with my local FEO and had my visit last week - in comparison to a lot of experiences of others around the country - what a lovely fella and a totally painless experience! (But I guess that’s another topic for another day!) The end result though - he was more than happy with everything, had already done all the background work and has put big ticks in boxes and said that he’d expect my first grant to arrive ASAP and suggested if I wanted to get something ordered/put a deposit down etc there’d be no issues. So, in the next week or so I should be all ready to go for a .308 and a .22LR. There’s rakes of used .22 setups kicking about, and for not a lot of money, so I’m less worried about that. However, as per some of my previous posts - the plan is to get right the purchase of a .308 setup for stalking with the major caveat of I really need a left handed rifle and all within a £1000 budget.
Having taken into account a lot of replies and information when I previously asked about Tikka T3 etc I’m more than happy with my earlier concerns but wanted to just ask you all (well the more sensible among you
for an opinion on 2 rifles I’ve seen advertised and also a more general question as to RFD pricing.
So.... first off is a complete Tikka set up - looks the part and ready to go and within budget.

Second, has just appeared online today - a used Titan 6. Again - looks in great condition - has a scope but no MOD or bipod etc but also a fair lump cheaper so could obviously still buy those within budget if not well within.

The dealers website has some pictures - I’ll sort a link to that shortly! (Just running out the door to go and do a lovely day off job!!)
Finally, (if you’re still awake and reading....) the general question - do you “expect” and RFD to have money to play with and if so roughly an idea of percentage? To qualify that - when I first left the army I used to sell cars for a little while and You can usually work out what sort of margin a used car dealer has and what you’ve got to barter with etc - so would you expect a similar experience at an RFD or would the price advertised be the price!
Many thanks as ever!!
