FC leases this year

Has anyone heard of any leases coming up for tender, or seen any postings on the FC (Forestry England) websites this year ?
I have been told that some previously issued leases have come up for 'tender', and have been snapped up by a large fish in the shooting world. Strange, as I was to believe that if a lease was to come up for tender, it was to be on the open market, ie. all interested parties were eligable to put in an offer or tender.

I may be wrong, but does anyone else have any information?

Think your wrong. I don't think any have been released this year. Next April before any are advertised I would guess for the next RDMP. Culling contracts will be different.

Anything coming up will have or will be advertise.

In Scotland these are all put up on the Public Contracts Scotland web portal. I presume there is an equivalent in England.

The website is not that easy to just dip into but if you register and elect to get notifications from all Forest and Land Scot or, I assume, Forestry England contact you will get daily notifications.

Not sure if the FC call them “leases”
I have a FC Deer Control Licence for an area in England and understand these licences will need to be reapplied / retendered for in 2020.
I expect they’ll be advertised in good time but I’ve found you need to have DSC Level 2 or equivalent, EFA certificate and insurance to apply and you have to pass a shooting / skills test at the initial interview and each year at renewal. I think it likely the EFA will be EFA+F in future. Hope this helps

I dont know the English system but you may have an option to search by buyer., in which case enter Forestry England. Also if there is a key word search simple use deer or deer management. Up here the "leases" are called Recreational Deer Management Permissions (RDMP) but there are also deer management contracts offered

Allegedly, all deer control contracts/rdmp's for Forestry & Land Scotland cant be "snapped" up by FLS favourites any more.

I have just registered with the delta website. Is this now the Forestry England Contracts website?
If it is, it's very hard to use.

I will never understand with things like this that you get 2 attempts at the firearms test - surely to god it should just be the one try if you have all those qualifications.

Daft question but how do the leases work and the financial side of things? PM if preferred
You produce a sealed bid, based on the expected minimum cull plan, what you think the shooting is worth, how much you want it !
The bids are opened all together and, the winner is................................

Who estimates the cull? The FC?
