A REALLY SIMPLE, hugely IN-expensive work around that I have used to good effect in years passed is this:-
Cut a piece out of a laminated business card or the like (something pliable of uniform thinness and of a non compressible material) that you can cover the inside of the rear, bottom ring ONLY. Carefully lay in/on the scope you have and CAREFULLY tighten down all ring screws as usual.
Simply put this just slightly elevates the rear end of the scope which will mean one will need to elevate the rifle barrel passed where it once was to gain the sight picture again, this giving one more sight elevation/range.
