Mistake on my FAC

Best mistake I had my 22 rimfire for deer. Didn't notify them until I put a variation in. Never shot a deer with it.

Call them, send it back, they’ll send you a revised correct copy within days. Done!

Covering note that comes back with FAC up here asks check carefully and then sign. Ie check it so that it is correct. A phine call and speak ti them is all tgats required. Trouble is its often several people handling a single FAC and as in many walks of life / business what said to one is not necessarily what comes out the other end.

when you call, and assuming you get an understanding and friendly person on the other end, politely ask for their name, possibly an extension number, when you need to call again,call direct, or ask for them specifically.

It's a mistake. Most probably the people that actually type out the certificates after all the enquiries are completed and decisions made are (strangely enough) typists. And they make typos, probably especially on Friday afternoons. Comes with the territory. A phone call to them will in all probability sort it out by return of post. If you feel the need, back that up with a letter "as per our conversation of the 3rd November..."

As for any legal implications, I suspect the possibility is very remote so long as you act in good faith.

A simple mistake that will be easily, and quickly, remedied by the department.

On receiving my recent renewal I found that the new authorities I had requested were listed as "7x64 Bolt Action Rifle" and "Small Bore Moderator". The office is reasonably close to where I live so I drove through and had a quick chat with one of the people there to highlight the mistake. She apologised, asked for my ticket and said "back in 5 minutes, I will just go check the paperwork". In less time than stated she was back, apologised again and handed over my shiny, new FAC with the correct moderator listed.

From door to door I was in the Police Station for less than 10 minutes.

You’re lucky, being able to call in to see someone.
In Manchester we’ve never been able to access the compound where the Firearms team were ensconced, but, we could go there and post stuff in a letterbox in the security gate, now, few years down the line and Firearms Section have moved to new address and we can no longer hand deliver mail, gotta let the postman do it.
Was a 24 miles round trip for me but worth it for peace of mind.
Now I pay around £7 Special del.

I still have 243 ammo on my FC I dont own a 243 and the FC has been back twice and its still there.
