T3 why do folk like them?

When the enemy is at the gate (big stag) I`m sure Ranger22 that you wouldn't be looking at the rifle in your hand and think about dissecting it`s qualities even if it was a T3 and I would be happy to go out stalking for a year with a T3. ( I dont own one)

I’ll use whatever rifle I have but I don’t have to like it. The point is I don’t like the T3, it has to many bad points

So... if a hunter is walking with an underloaded rifle in rough terrain and needs to unload the rifle it is easier to dump 5 cartridges out only to single load again once one gets going again? vs dropping the mag out and putting in the pocket. Lads....
If you need to unload a rifle with a chambered round it is still faster with a mag, and safer as one fumbles the round from the chamber back into the mag away from the rifle... no danger. People around feel safer to vs watching someone fumble with a rifle and cartridges....

Your missing the point. We have a live round in the chamber of a Remington, we can cycle the bolt, partially eject said round but top load it back into the mag well
T3 we have a live round in the chamber, we have take the safety off, cycle the bolt, eject the live round, drop the mag out, put the round back in the mag, put the mag back in the rifle

Which is quicker and less hassle? Which is the safer option?
Are you getting it now?

The T3 is all faff

Same as howa, with rifle on safe (3 position safety) bolt unlocked, part cycle bolt to eject round then load back in. See if your boss will buy one of them :D

I get it,
also that a unloaded rifle is safer than one loaded with 5 rounds. With the T3 it is quicker to unload when you need to have it safe. So much hassle to get the 5 out of the drop plate one will start to get complacent and just leave them in. You see we also hunt not only you. In and out of vehicles after and deer.

I bet you really struggle making your toast in the morning you have to get the bread out of the bread bin, put it in the toaster, get the butter out of the fridge, get a knife out of the drawer, wait for the bread to pop out of the toaster, put butter on the knife, spread butter onto the toast......

I have trained my gwp to do all that for me.

Ranger22, we get it you don't like the Tikka T3 and would far rather have a Remmy. However, 7 pages into a thread (which you started) you have to admit that you would appear to be in the minority on this one.

Well human nature and it's strange ways never surprise me, I had staff threatening to resign as the company had decided to change the mobile phones.
These new phones had safety features for lone works but they didn't like them as much as the ones they had.
I had to have a few strong words let's say

I've never had a Tikka trigger assembly come loose, nor have Ifound one loose.

True enough. I think the complaint department at the end of a circular hallway. You're not getting any traction. We get it. Really. You don't like it.
Complain again to your employers. Write to Tikka. (I have and, believe it or not, they wrote back.) Hunt without a round in the chamber....

You're beginning to sound like my Ex who hated my car because the gas filler cap was on the "....wrong side of the car." (Sheesh!) ~Muir

I've had my T3 trigger come loose. I bought it 2nd hand though so can't say it hadn't been fiddled with. Since tightening about 4 years back it's been fine but I'll probably stick some low strength loctite on the screw when I disassemble it at some stage, probably a good few years down the line :)

The minority can be right and often are!

Absolutely.
The flaws with the T3 which you have highlighted are all valid and since you are a professional user, obviously these affect you more than the average T3 owner who are not using theirs on a daily basis.
Would be nice if Tikka would make some improvements to resolve these issues, but due to the costs involved it probably won't happen.
Saying that if they offered an upgraded version at additional cost (in addition to the standard one), there could be a lot of interest.
