Tikka t3

Just looking for peoples opinions on T3 I’m looking at one in 22-250 have been looking at other makes but really want a tikka but I was talking to a friend the other day who’s been shooting far longer than me he was less than complementary for the tikka as a brand this will be my everyday rifle so will be stainless or cerakoted synthetic so just need opinions for people with more experience of the brands out there

I have a T1X in 22 rimfire, a T3 lite in 243 and a T3 varmint stainless in 22-250
All are extremely well made, accurate rifles.
What's your friends beef with them?

I have the T3x Sporter in 223 and the Tik Tac in 308, had the 22 250, all of them are superb.

I’ve had a T3 since 2013, it hasn’t missed a beat. I can cloverleaf x3 shots at 100m with the right ammo (on a good day). The limiting factor is me!

It is of course built to a modest price, and this shows with some components like the bolt shroud and plastic trigger guard which I don’t care for.

I’ve improved mine with some aftermarket bits including a steel bolt shroud/metal trigger guard/Sterk bolt/trigger spring and limb saver recoil pad. Now, the T3x has an improved recoil pad/shroud and stock as standard which receive good write ups (not used one myself).

Whilst happy with my set up you should look around and try out what you like the look/price of. Don’t exclude decent second hand. Try friends set ups if you can. Personally, I’d look hard at the Sauer 100 if I was starting out again, but can’t fault my T3.

Possibly one of the best actions out there at this time. Very stiff and very lightweight at the same time. Plenty of aftermarket options. The Tikka/Sako barrels seem very consistent at this time. Overall Tikka rifles are very well made.

Found this from a zero session at 100 yards with the 223 Sporter, using Geco ammo, 5 shot group

I have two, 6.5x55 stainless lite and a 223 stainless varmint with CR1 cheek raiser. Both are tack drivers, if I do my bit ! Never had any problems what ever with either of them.

Well that seems fairly conclusive he’s an difficult person at the best of times thinks if it isn’t a blaser it is scrap was the same when I got a Weatherby vanguard that seems perfectly acceptable to me I point it pull the trigger bang flop will have to keep saving and hopefully have some money to get a tikka when the shops open again

My tikka is a 695 in 6.5 x 55 sako 75 7mm08 never had a complaint from a roe deer yet both rifles better made than current models dont buy a remington buy a howa far better

Have 2 Tikkas 595 and T3x in 22.250.The latter is the light model for Night Vision and it’s a joy to use.You will not regret buying a Tikka.Richard
