223 Twist Rates

I got a Winchester mod 70 with 1:12 twist. I use factory ammo. I tried Winchester, hornady v max and federal power shok all in 55gr with not a great success. What grain bullets are recommended

I found in my 1-8 20 inch tikka , of all the factory ammo it shoots norma 40g the best ! I found these more effective on fox as well, just what I found......

Norma 50gr V-max , produce the tightest factory ammo group , in my 1 in 12" .223 model 70 Featherweight.

I have a T3 Varmint 1:12 twist that now needs a rebarrel. Loved homeloaded 53gr and 55gr V-Max.

1:8 twist here and I shoot everything from 50gr to 77gr with no problems. Best group so far was 69TMK, closely followed by the 55gr Sierra SBT. Both printed sub 0.5moa from a bipod. Used the 55's for Carrion and Munty to 200yds with great success. TMKs make carrion like shooting a down pillow. Very explosive expansion.
